Job summary

Caterlink is recruiting an Assistant Chef / Cook for Hayes College in Hayes to ensure nutritionally balanced and tasty meals for students. You will be organised, hardworking and passionate about high food quality, presentation and service, while delivering efficient student-focused service.

The role includes planning, preparing and cooking meals, briefing kitchen teams, maintaining food safety and HACCP standards, and completing company records.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Safety in Catering certificate.
• Level 2 Health and Safety qualification or equivalent training.
• Good understanding of food hygiene, allergen management and cross-contamination prevention.
• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods and safe food storage.
• Understanding of special dietary requirements and allergen controls, particularly when catering for students with additional needs.
• Ability to follow recipes, portion control, food safety procedures and HACCP requirements.
• Previous experience in a professional kitchen or catering environment is desirable.
• Good teamwork, communication and organisational skills.

Job Description

We are looking for an Assistant Chef /Cook at Hayes Collage, in Hayeswho wants to ensure our future generations are provided with nutritionally balanced and tasty food. We are looking for an organised, hard-working and passionate individual to ensure that the food quality, presentation and service are provided to the required standard. You should be passionate about delivering an efficient service to our students whilst ensuring we maintain great customer service and high food safety standards.

The role:

• £14.50per hour
• 35hours per week working Monday – Friday
• Term-time only – working 190weeks per year

You will assist with all planning, preparing and cooking of meals to the required standard and you will ensure that the company’s reputation for excellent food and service is enhanced with the client and customers. Other tasks will include briefing kitchen teams on menus and service, ensuring all food safety and health and safety procedures are applied continuously and carry out company bookwork.
