A local authority is seeking an experienced Catering Supervisor to lead the kitchen team at a special school, managing meal preparation and ensuring health and safety standards. Ideal candidates will possess NVQ Level 2 in Catering and experience in a similar environment. The role plays a key part in enhancing the lunchtime experience for young people with varying needs.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the award-winning Derbyshire Catering Service. We are looking for an experienced catering professional to lead our kitchen team at Peak School, Chinley. Peak School is a Special School that proudly supports pupils and young adults aged 2 to 19 with a wide range of needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), communication challenges, and complex behaviours. Our catering team plays an important role in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment, helping every pupil enjoy positive lunchtime experiences.
As Catering Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including preparing, cooking, and serving meals, as well as managing clerical duties through our digital system. You’ll ensure health and safety is always a priority, and demonstrate a caring, respectful attitude that fits the school’s nurturing ethos.
Ideally, you will hold NVQ Level 2 in Catering and Hospitality or have relevant experience, with a sound knowledge of Health & Safety and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2. Awareness of IDDSI standards would be helpful, but not essential.
