Job Overview

The Catering Supervisor (Band 3) will supervise both patient and retail catering services at Broadgreen Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage first‑line catering staff and organise rotas.
  • Conduct staff training, appraisals and disciplinary actions.
  • Implement new menus, HACCP sheets and other quality procedures.
  • Allocate and review food orders, stock control and budget.
  • Maintain hygiene and safety standards, ensuring compliance with COSHH and HACCP policies.
  • Handle patient complaints and visit wards to discuss special diets.
  • Promote retail sales and audit procedures within the department.
Qualifications
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • NVQ Level 3 in catering or equivalent ILM certificate.
Experience
  • Previous supervisory experience in a busy catering environment.
  • Experience in industrial catering preferred.
Skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Basic data entry, numeracy and literacy.
  • Team‑working and flexible work‑hour attitude.
