Job summary

At Sodexo and Edinburgh Academy, a Catering Supervisor is needed to lead our front-of-house team, delivering a high-quality dining experience for pupils, staff and visitors across daily meals and events.

You'll supervise breakfast and lunch service, support recruitment and training, ensure allergen communication and maintain a welcoming, high-standard environment with daytime hours and a strong work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or catering, ideally in a supervisory or team leader role.
• Strong focus on delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to stay calm and organised in busy environments.

Responsibilities

Location: Edinburgh Academy Junior School, Edinburgh

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday (unless special events on which you would have good advance notice off).

Salary: £14.30 per hour

Contract: 52 weeks

The Role

We're looking for a confident and energetic Catering Supervisor to lead our front-of-house team. You'll play a key role in delivering a high-quality service experience for pupils, staff, and visitors across daily dining and special events.

This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same, from leading breakfast and lunch service to supporting occasional events throughout the year.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and motivating a front-of-house team to deliver smooth, professional service
• Overseeing day-to-day dining operations (breakfast, lunch and hospitality)
• Supporting and delivering events (with occasional flexibility required)
• Acting as Allergen Champion, ensuring safety and clear communication
• Creating a welcoming, high-standard dining environment
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding and training of team members
• Working closely with kitchen and site leadership teams

About You

• Experience in hospitality or catering, ideally in a supervisory or team leader role
• Passion for delivering excellent customer service
• Strong organisational skills and ability to stay calm in busy environments
• Natural leader who enjoys developing and supporting others
• Flexible approach when supporting events or occasional additional service needs
