Catering Supervisor – Prestigious Historic Cambridge College

Location: Cambridge

Hours: 37.5 per week, 5 days out of 7 (including evenings/weekends)

Salary: £27,000 – £35,800 per annum (DOE)

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to lead a dedicated front-of-house team and ensure outstanding service across all college dining and event operations.

As the Catering Supervisor, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional hospitality experiences – from vibrant student lunches to formal college dinners and high-profile events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise front-of-house and catering service teams across dining halls, cafés, and function spaces
  • Act as Duty Manager, ensuring smooth daily operations and excellent guest service
  • Work closely with kitchen, conference, and events teams to deliver seamless service
  • Coach and develop staff to uphold high hospitality standards
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and allergen regulations
  • Manage stock, resources, and service equipment efficiently
  • Support new initiatives and continuous improvement to enhance the guest experience
About You
  • Proven experience as a Catering Supervisor, Front-of-House Supervisor, Food and beverage supervisor, Hospitality Team Leader or similar.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with a hands-on, proactive attitude
  • Ability to stay calm and organised in a busy, high-end catering environment
  • Passion for delivering exceptional service and memorable guest experiences
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
