Catering Patient Ambassador

30 hours per week

Monday - Friday - 1430 - 2100 hours

FTE Basic Salary - £24,937.00 - £26,598.00 depending on length of service/experience plus 35% for unsociable hours. Agenda for Change. Band 3

Main Accountabilities
  • Ensure ward hosts report for duty on time and are presented in a clean, tidy manner.
  • Provide support and guidance to ward hosts.
  • Complete monthly safety observations and 20 PSSs.
  • Oversee staff performance, providing regular feedback.
  • Monitor meal services.
  • Monitor all stock levels after service.
  • Attend audits within areas of responsibility and implement corrective actions.
  • Support and assist in the development of new starters.
  • Monitor stock levels on wards and manage overstocking, ensuring necessary supplies like cups, plates, and cutlery are available.
  • Track food and appliance temperatures and monitor dates for items taken to wards.
  • Ensure cleanliness in catering kitchens and check equipment is maintained and cleaned.
  • Check that kitchen mops have been taken down to mop room.
  • Complete safety checks and report any hazards or accidents.
  • Hold sickness-related meetings, manage attendance, and conduct daily callbacks and RTWs.
  • Run regular one-on-one catchups with staff.
  • Supervise, coordinate, motivate, and train catering staff to deliver efficient, high-quality service to patients.
  • Ensure breaks are monitored.
  • Challenge audit outcomes when necessary.
  • Support positive communication by leading weekly staff huddles.
  • Attend regular meetings with clinical staff.
  • Provide daily handovers via email.
  • Fit mask testing.
  • Manage and monitor waste and waste recording.
  • Check tablet orders and confirm they are signed in and out.
  • Ensure food safety and HACCP documentation are completed correctly, and review cleaning schedules.
  • Promptly address any customer complaints and take action to prevent recurrence.
  • Complete competency checks to assess staff capability.
  • Develop and maintain a customer-focused team and ensure improvement actions are addressed within agreed timescales when standards fall short.
