Job summary

Castleview Primary School in Slough is seeking a Catering Manager to lead the school’s catering service, ensuring meals meet healthy eating guidelines and DfE standards. You will plan, prepare, cook, present and serve meals, optimising staffing and resources to deliver a quality service.

The role involves managing catering staff, inductions, training, and appraisals, while ensuring strict adherence to food hygiene and health and safety regulations, with regular inspections and checks.

Responsibilities

• Provision of a high quality and efficient catering service in accordance with healthy eating and DfE guidance.
• Planning, preparation, cooking, presentation and serving of meals and snacks using staffing and resources effectively.
• Adhering to budgets and ensuring a cost-effective catering service.
• Line management of all Catering Staff (including Lunchtime Controllers) and their induction, training and appraisal.
• Ensuring food hygiene and health and safety regulations are in place and adhered to, including inspections and checks.

The CateringManager is responsible for:

• Adheringto relevant budgets and ensuring that all factors combine to generate acost-effective catering service.

• Ensuringthat food hygiene and health and safety regulations are in place and adheredto, including the completion and recording of all necessary inspections andchecks.
