Catering Manager

Are you passionate about delivering nutritious, high‑quality meals that make a real difference to people's lives? We are seeking a dedicated Catering Manager to join our team and lead the provision of exceptional catering services within our warm, supportive, faith‑based community.

As our Catering Manager, you will take responsibility for planning, preparing, and serving balanced, attractive meals in line with Food Standards Agency Safe Food Better Business (SFBB) guidance. You will oversee kitchen staff, maintain excellent hygiene standards, manage stock and ordering, and contribute to creating a homely, caring environment for our family members.

This role is ideal for a candidate who has experience preparing and catering for large numbers and experience managing a team.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook and serve nutritionally balanced and attractive meals with due regard to preferences and special dietary needs;
  • Train and supervise the catering team to the SFBB standards as well as monitor their performance;
  • Food stock management;
  • Maintain all records daily;
  • Prepare records and reports, attend meetings and training activities as required;
  • Promote and monitor food hygiene and safety standards;
  • Observe the cleaning schedules and maintain daily records;
  • Maintain kitchen and equipment to a high standard of cleanliness;
  • Required to perform other duties as assigned by the manager;

About you
  • Enjoys working with older people;
  • Relevant City & Guilds or similar qualifications;
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate;
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety rules & regulations (including Environmental Health);
  • Knowledge of Safe Food Better Business (SFBB) or similar;
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills;
  • Able to achieve and maintain high standards in food preparation;
  • Able to encourage and motivate staff;

Hours

Full‑time hours: 35 hours per week (including alternate weekends)

Shifts: 4 or 5 days
