Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking experienced baristas in London for temporary and ad-hoc shifts across our London client base. You should be comfortable on a traditional espresso machine, dialing in a grinder, pulling a consistent shot, and steaming milk to a high standard.

Shifts are zero-hour, so you will be offered work as it comes in and can accept what suits. Minimum 3 years' experience, Level 2 Food Safety is desirable; right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a barista, including hands-on work on a manual/traditional espresso machine.
• Solid grinder and extraction knowledge, with the confidence to adjust without prompting.
• Reliable, punctual and able to adapt quickly to new sites.

Responsibilities

• Preparing espresso-based drinks to a high standard on a manual machine.
• Dialling in grinders and adjusting for taste and consistency.
• Latte art to a good standard; daily cleaning and basic machine maintenance.
• Serving customers warmly and keeping the bar organized during peak service.
• Stock rotation, waste control and opening/closing duties as required by the site.
• Working to food safety and allergen standards at all times.

Barista — Temporary / Zero-Hour | [Location, London]

£14.50 – £15.50 per hour (depending on experience)

We're recruiting experienced baristas for temporary and ad-hoc shifts across our London client base. This is for someone who knows their way around a traditional machine — dialling in a grinder, pulling a consistent shot, and steaming milk to a standard they'd happily put their name to.

Shifts are booked on a zero-hour basis, so you'll be offered work as it comes in and can take what suits you. Sites include [hotels, corporate cafés, independent coffee houses, schools and care homes].

What you’ll be doing

• Preparing espresso-based drinks to a consistently high standard on a manual machine
• Dialling in grinders and adjusting through the day for taste and consistency
• Latte art to a good standard
• Daily cleaning, backflushing and basic machine maintenance
• Serving customers warmly and keeping the bar calm and tidy during peak service
• Stock rotation, waste control and opening/closing duties as required by the site
• Working to food safety and allergen standards at all times

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a barista, including hands-on experience on a manual/traditional espresso machine (essential — fully automatic experience alone won't be enough)
• Solid grinder and extraction knowledge, and the confidence to adjust without being asked
• Reliable, punctual and comfortable walking into a new site and getting straight on with it
• Level 2 Food Safety [desirable / required]
• Right to work in the UK
• Two contactable references covering recent work
