Job description

We have an exciting opportunity at our school site in Peterborough, PE4, for a Catering Assistant to join the team at Accent.

This is a permanent position, working 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 11:30 am to 2:30 pm during term‑time only – so all the school holidays are off!

Working as part of a team, your daily tasks will mainly consist of:

• general kitchen duties
• supporting the team when serving lunch to students and staff, including handling allergies and dietary requirements
• putting away deliveries
• food preparation
• serving, cleaning and washing up
• assisting with inventory management
• speaking to each customer in a friendly, helpful and professional manner
• undertaking all basic training and working effectively with colleagues as part of a team

This is a customer‑facing position, so in addition to the above you will also need good communication skills and be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the English language.

Experience in a similar role would be an advantage but full training will be provided for the successful candidate.
