We have an exciting opportunity at our school site in New Malden, KT2 7DD for a Catering Assistant to join the team at Accent. This is a permanent position, working 16 hours per week, Monday 10:15 am to 2:15 pm and Tuesday to Friday, 11:15 am to 2:15 pm, term‑time only – so all the school holidays off!

Responsibilities

• General kitchen duties
• Drive company vehicle to collect meals from the main kitchen
• Put away deliveries
• Food preparation
• Serving, cleaning and washing up
• Assist with inventory management
• Maintain high standards of presentation of food and replenish counters, keeping them attractive throughout service time
• Speak to each customer in a friendly, helpful and professional manner
• Undertake basic training and work effectively with colleagues as part of a team

Qualifications and Requirements

This is a customer‑facing position, so you will need good communication skills and a clear understanding of the English language. Experience in a similar role would be an advantage, but full training will be provided. Accent Catering is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all employees to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this role and appropriate evidence must be provided.

You will be required to prove your right to work in the UK and to provide two referees at the interview stage.
