Job summary

Cornfield School is seeking a Catering Assistant to support pupils by preparing healthy, nutritious meals and encouraging life skills at mealtimes. You will create a welcoming atmosphere and provide exceptional service for students and staff.

The role involves lifting and moving equipment, following health, safety and food safety procedures, and working during term times plus additional days for cleaning. A dedication to good customer service and communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Good communication and can connect well with children and staff.
• Experience in catering with good customer service.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation of the kitchen including preparation, cooking, and cleaning to the required standards.
• Follow Health & Safety and Food Safety documentation and ensure hygiene and safety measures are maintained.
• Assist in busy environments and support colleagues to maintain high professional standards.
• This is an active role with regular lifting, moving and handling of large equipment.
