Qualification: Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety (Catering), First Aid Certificate

Randstad Education has a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and talented Catering Assistant. You'll play a vital role in providing nutritious and appealing meals for the children and young people in our care, who have severe and complex learning difficulties.

This is a full‑time permanent role and you will be required to support five days a week Monday‑Friday inline with school hours.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with meal preparation and service, ensuring portion control and food safety.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene, including cleaning equipment, surfaces, and floors.
• Receive, check, and store food deliveries according to food safety standards.
• Ensure accurate allergen labelling in compliance with Natasha's Law.
• Serve food respectfully, considering individual dietary needs and preferences.
• Engage positively with young people during mealtimes.
• Carry out and record equipment and maintenance checks.
• Contribute to the overall quality of the food service.

Preferred Skills:

• Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety (Catering) certificate.
• Good working knowledge of health & safety, COSHH, and food hygiene legislation.
• Good IT literacy (Outlook, Excel).
• Knowledge of Natasha's Law (allergen labelling).
• Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently when required.
• First Aid Certificate.
