Job summary

John Port Spencer Academy is seeking a Catering Assistant (MAT Cover) to join the on-site catering team. The role supports three catering outlets for students and staff and requires flexibility to work across areas on the academy site. Training will be provided, and the position fits around a school day.

The successful applicant will be a great team player, able to adapt to different catering areas, and work pattern is 11.15am to 2.30pm, five days a week.

Qualifications

• Some experience of food handling or previous work in a catering environment is desirable, but not essential, as training will be provided.
• Great team player and be willing to work in different areas within the Academy site.

The Role

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking Catering Assistant to join our dedicated Catering Team. We are a large Academy with three on site Catering outlets servicing our students and staff. The successful applicant will need to be flexible, a great team player and be willing to work in different areas within the Academy site. Some experience of food handling or previous work in a catering environment is desirable, but not essential, as training will be provided.

This is a Catering Assistant (MAT Cover) role, from mid October 2026 or until early return of postholder.

The working pattern is 5 days a week, from 11.15am to 2.30pm. It is a great job to fit around children and their school day!
