Job summary

Derbyshire County Council's Derbyshire Catering Service is recruiting a Catering Assistant to join the kitchen team at Combs Infants. You will support the kitchen supervisor in all service areas, including production or servery units, food preparation, cooking and portion control.

This role requires allergen compliance and a strong commitment to food hygiene and safety in a school environment; NVQ food hygiene certificate is required on appointment.

Qualifications

• NVQ food hygiene certificate required upon appointment.
• Ability to work as part of a kitchen team in a school environment.

We are currently recruiting for a Catering Assistant to work as a valued member of our dedicated kitchen team. You will be supporting the kitchen supervisor in all areas of the service at Combs Infants.

This may involve working at a production unit or at a servery unit.

Possible tasks include food preparation, cooking, portion control, allergen compliance and preparing the dining room for service.

Our Catering Assistants are our point of contact with our hungry customers. Whilst serving meals to our customers all team members help ensure that food hygiene and health & safety regulations are followed. We want to help make good lunchtime memories for our customers so it is essential that you can demonstrate an attitude which is appropriate to the school environment.

Successful completion of the NVQ food hygiene certificate will be required upon appointment.
