Greenacre School is seeking a relief catering assistant to support the catering lead during busy periods and staff absences. This zero-hours role offers casual, on-demand shifts with full training provided from day one.

You will assist in serving meals to pupils, maintain high kitchen standards, and follow food safety and COSHH guidelines. DBS checks are required, with training offered to new starters.

• Overseas criminal records check if lived or worked overseas in the last five years and preferred candidate.

Description du poste

Relief catering assistant post at Greenacre School, covering staff absences and busy periods on a casual, as-and-when basis. The work centres on helping the catering lead cook and serve meals to pupils, keeping kitchens clean and following food safety rules. It is a zero-hours arrangement with no set hours, suited to occasional work, and no prior experience or qualifications are needed because training is given. Candidates need an enhanced DBS check, and visa sponsorship is not available.

What the job involves

• Assist the Catering Lead in serving meals to young people
• Prepare, cook and serve nutritious food to high standards, accommodating dietary needs
• Keep dining areas, kitchens and equipment clean through washing up, sanitising and clearing
• Use catering equipment safely and follow food safety, hygiene and COSHH guidelines
• Help with stock control, menu support and basic catering IT systems
• Maintain safety and safeguarding so the premises stay secure and welcoming for pupils and staff
