Job summary

Caterlink is seeking a Catering Assistant at Wayland Academy, Watton, Thetford to join our education sector team. The role covers food production, service, tills and cleaning, working term-time only with no weekends.

Weekdays 8:30am–2:30pm, 30 hours weekly at £12.71/hour, start 4 September 2026, with enhanced DBS disclosure required. You will assist with food preparation, uphold health and safety standards, keep areas clean, and provide a friendly, hygienic service to students and staff while

Job description

Caterlink is the education sector catering specialist. For over 20 years, the Company has delivered fresh food solutions to pupils and staff at Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and Colleges across the UK. The company caters more than 1,000,000 meals a week. Our “Fresh Food Policy” is the foundation of our success and growth in the market coupled with a desire to truly deliver on the promises we make to our clients and support our site-based teams.

We are looking to employ a Catering Assistant at Wayland Academy, Watton, Thetford to perform a variety of food production tasks along with food service, working on tills, and general cleaning duties in our schools. This role is working term-time only and no weekends so is great for those looking for flexibility.

The role:

• £12.71 per hour
• 30 hours per week working Monday – Friday, 8.30am - 2:30pm
• Term-time only – working 38weeks per year
• Start date - September 4th 2026

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the preparation of tasty food
• Complying with Caterlink Health and Safety and Food Safety standards and procedures
