Job Overview

The post holder is a member of a team responsible for providing catering services within a cafe/dining setting to staff, patients and visitors, which will include preparing and serving food and beverages, cleaning, cash handling and provision of hospitalities. An opportunity has arisen for a full time catering Assistant within the Hive Cafe within Ridgeway Roseberry Park. This is to support the team in the on site provision of hospitalities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing and serving food and beverages to staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Cleaning and maintaining kitchen and dining areas, including use of chemicals and equipment.
  • Cash handling and completion of associated paperwork.
  • Preparing, cooking and serving meals in line with Hygiene Codes of Practice and legislation, with particular attention to portion control, quality, and appearance.
  • Assisting in maintaining the highest possible standard of hygiene, health and safety.
  • Assisting with menu planning.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience of cafe work essential with good culinary skills and knowledge.
  • Experience in cash handling and related paperwork.
  • Knowledge of cleaning duties, chemicals, and equipment in a demanding environment.
  • Good general education.
  • Minimum of Level Two Food Hygiene certificate.
  • Knowledge of allergens.
  • Commitment to undertake further training and qualifications.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team; highly motivated, reliable, and flexible.
