Salford Royal Hospital, part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, seeks a part-time Catering Assistant for a six-month fixed term. You will prepare simple meals, plate and serve for staff and visitors, load trolleys, and maintain HACCP records in a busy NHS catering environment.

The role is based in the patients’ kitchen or the retail and staff restaurant, with coverage for other outlets as needed. Basic Food Hygiene certification is required.

Formación

• Basic Food Hygiene or equivalent standard.
• Understanding of the catering assistant role in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of allergens.

Responsabilidades

• Plating and serving meals to staff and visitors.
• Simple preparation of food items to department standards.
• Loading prepared food into the correct food trolleys.
• Checking prepared items for quality, quantity and appearance and reporting discrepancies.
• Cleaning the premises and equipment to schedules and hygiene policies.
• Cleaning and filling fridges and freezers.
• Putting away deliveries and replenishing fridges and shelves, rotating stock.
• Keeping accurate HACCP food safety records.
• Handling cash under Trust policies and procedures.
• Informing the supervisor when stocks are low.
• Delivering food orders to wards when required.
• Covering absences across the catering department, including the patients' kitchen and retail outlets

This part-time Catering Assistant post at Salford Royal Hospital sits within the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust's catering department on a six-month fixed term.
