Job summary

Aspens Services in the education sector is seeking a Catering Assistant to support our kitchen with basic food preparation and deliver excellent service during the lunchtimes.

You’ll work Monday to Friday during school term time, about 10 hours per week across 38 weeks, with training provided to cover health and safety requirements and food hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Team player in a busy school catering environment.
• Experience in catering or fast-paced service.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 training is a plus (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Customer Interaction: Working on the tills during service; full training provided.
• Front-Line Service: Providing friendly, polite customer service to students and staff.
• Essential Support: Assisting the team with basic food preparation.
• Maintaining Standards: Keeping a safe, clean kitchen and following Health and Safety compliance.

The role:

As a Catering Assistant, you will be a vital part of the team, supporting our kitchen in basic food preparation and delivering excellent service that makes the lunchtime rush run smoothly.

You’ll be making a real difference through responsibilities that include:
