Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Northampton is seeking an outgoing Catering Assistant / Kitchen Porter to support the day-to-day operations of a commercial kitchen in Milton Keynes. Ideal candidates will have catering and hospitality experience in roles such as Catering Assistant, Kitchen Porter, Kitchen Hand, General Assistant or Commis Chef with front of house exposure.

The role offers £12.71 to £13.00 per hour PAYE, paid every Friday, with holiday accrual, onsite parking and a meal on duty.

Qualifications

• Mandatory catering experience (Kitchen Porter / Catering Assistant / Kitchen Hand / General Assistant)
• Front of house or back of house exposure is required
• Driver with reliable vehicle and willing to travel 15–45 minutes per shift

Responsibilities

• Assist in the day-to-day running of a commercial kitchen.
• Support in food preparation, service and cleanup as part of the shift team.

We are currently seeking an outgoing Catering Assistant / Kitchen Porter to assist in the day to day running of a commercial kitchen to be based in Milton Keynes. Applicants must have prior catering and hospitality experience such as Catering Assistant, Kitchen Porter, Kitchen Hand, General Assistant, Commis Chef with good front of house experience.

Candidate:

• experience as a Kitchen Hand, Kitchen Porter, Catering Assistant, General Assistant or any front of house or back of house exposure (mandatory)


• driver with a reliable vehicle and willing to travel c.15-45 minutes per shift(mandatory)


• be over the age of 18 for insurance purposes(mandatory)


• proof of address (mandatory)


• proof of NI number (mandatory)


• proof of UK right to work (mandatory)
  
• evidence of commercial kitchen experience in the form of an up-to-date CV (mandatory)


• excellent communicator, professional, reliable, flexible and adaptable (mandatory)


• food hygiene and/or food safety level 2 or above certified (ideal)


• work experience in a school, warehouse, hospital, care home or university canteen (ideal)


• enhanced DBS (criminal record check) certificate dated within the last 3 years or part of the update service (ideal)


• safety shoes (ideal)
