Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking General Assistants to support busy kitchen operations in the UK. The role covers food preparation, cleaning, and stock handling across catering stations, with opportunities to host or serve at events as required.

Ideal candidates will have basic catering knowledge, good time management, and strong organisational skills. Right to Work in the UK is essential; training can be provided for food hygiene.

Qualifications

• Commercial kitchen experience is valued but not essential.
• A basic Catering and Hospitality certificate such as Food Handling is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent time management skills and can work under pressure.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Can stand for extended periods is often necessary due to the physical nature of the job.

Responsibilities

• Help with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, trimming, and making sandwiches and salads.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area and equipment, including utensils, tableware, and catering stations.
• Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries, ensuring food and supplies are organised.
• Serve food to customers per the chefs’ menu; may act as host/waiter at events.
• Top up vending services.

• Serve food items to customers in accordance with the menu prepared by the Chefs. Our General Assistants may also act as a host/waiter when needed in events
