Job summary

A leading catering service provider is looking for a Catering Assistant to deliver excellent service at the North East London Foundation Trust. You will serve food, maintain hygiene standards, and assist in the kitchen operations. Previous catering experience is desirable, and basic Food Hygiene training will be provided if needed. This is a full-time fixed-term contract with 30 hours per week and a pay rate of £12.51 per hour.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience in a similar environment is desirable.
• Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Job description

We're looking for a Catering Assistant who will deliver excellent service standards, while meeting SLA agreements and adhering to cleaning schedules, and prepare and maintain dining and service areas, including furniture, trolleys, and cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Serve food in correct portions and wash dishes, cutlery, and catering equipment.
• Clean all catering areas daily and follow health and safety standards.
• Handle cash collection, banking, and maintain records and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and colleagues to deliver excellent service.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience in a similar environment (desirable).
• Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates (training provided if not held).
• Adequate numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
• Passion for customer service and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Adaptable, detail-oriented, and confident with strong organisational and time management skills.
