Fromefield Manor School are recruiting a Catering Assistant to join their catering team. We are looking for passionate people who can support the provision of the catering operation by assisting with basic food preparation and hygiene, promoting healthy eating and contributing to the wellbeing of our Children and Young People.
Under direction, take responsibility for parts of the catering operation, ensure the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the Company’s Assured Safe Catering Policies and Procedures, and assist the Cook with the preparation and cooking of meals.
Catering experience would be advantageous but is not essential. The role holder will support the cook to prepare the lunch service for our young people and staff, maintain the dining room, help clear away, interact well with our young people and create interesting visual displays providing information about food, nutrition, culture and traditions. We want a candidate who is engaging and can add creativity and fun to our young people’s lunchtime experience.
Fromefield Manor School is a new SEN school (opened September 2024) located in central Frome, Somerset and is a special school for up to 30 pupils, aged 11‑19 who have a diagnosis of autism with associated complex needs. With a total communication approach and bespoke timetables we are able to ensure our students receive the care, attention, time and dedication to enable them to access education and reach their individual goals. The school is Ofsted‑rated "Good".
All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with Disclosure & Barring Service and at least 2 references covering the last 3 years; references may be requested prior to interview for roles within our Schools.
