This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new team in a newly opened canteen at Booker Distribution Centre in Fareham. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality food service to our colleagues in a fast-paced and friendly environment.

  • You will have previous experience working in a kitchen or catering environment, with a good understanding of food hygiene practices.

You will be responsible for
  • Support the daily operation of the canteen, providing both hot and cold food options to staff.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a small, dedicated team of catering assistants.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen and dining areas.
  • Assist with food preparation, serving, and restocking throughout the day.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all colleagues using the canteen facilities.
You will need
  • Cooking experience is essential.
  • An excellent attitude towards customer service with a friendly outgoing personality and be used to working within a team environment.
  • A high standard of presentation and the ability to work within a team producing and serving a varied menu to colleagues and visitors on site.
  • The ideal candidate will be required to prepare, cook and serve food along with cleaning duties and stock vending machines.
The Hours for this role are Monday - Friday 12pm-8pm
