Job summary

Chartwells is seeking an Assistant (Zero Hours) to help run operations with flexible, casual shifts. You will prepare drinks, serve food, handle payments and work as part of a busy team to ensure great customer experiences.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, prior customer service experience, and hands-on brewing equipment knowledge. This role supports Chartwells’ commitment to quality and service across education sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service is essential.

• Hands-on experience with brewing equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare beverages and serve high-quality food to delight customers.
• Keep the bar area clean and well organized.
• Receive and process payments (cash and card).
• Be an enthusiastic team player and excellent communicator.
• Maintain stock of mugs, plates and supplies.
• Learn brewing methods, beverage blends, food prep and presentation techniques.
• Check brewing equipment operates correctly and report issues.
• Represent Chartwells and uphold a positive brand image.
• Comply with Food Hygiene standards and Health & Safety regulations.

We're currently recruiting a dedicated Assistant (Zero Hours) to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Chartwells on a permanent casual basis, contracted to 0 hours per week.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing perfectly blended drinks and serving high-quality food that delights our customers
• Keeping the bar area clean
• Receiving and processing payments (cash and credit cards)
• Being an enthusiastic team player and excellent communicator
• Maintaining stock of clean mugs and plates
• Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation and presentation techniques
• Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
• Representing Chartwells and maintaining a positive brand image
• Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards
• Complying with Health & Safety regulations
