Job summary

Aspens Services in Bath is seeking a Catering Assistant to support the school kitchen during the busy lunch service. You will help with basic food preparation and deliver friendly service to students and staff.

Work is term-time, Monday to Friday, 25 hours per week across 39 weeks per year. The role offers training and progression within a fast-growing catering team and requires DBS clearance.

Qualifications

• Team player with ability to work in a busy team.
• Experience in catering or fast-paced service roles.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 is helpful but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers at tills during service and maintain service flow.
• Provide friendly, polite service to students and staff on front line.
• Assist the team with basic food preparation.

The role:

As a Catering Assistant, you will be a vital part of the team, supporting our kitchen in basic food preparation and delivering excellent service that makes the lunchtime rush run smoothly.

You'll be making a real difference through responsibilities that include:

• Customer Interaction: Working on the tills during service (don't worry, full training is provided!).
• Front-Line Service: Providing friendly, polite customer service to all students and staff.
• Essential Support: Assisting the team with basic food preparation
• Maintaining Standards: Ensuring a safe, clean kitchen environment and meeting Health and Safety compliance
