Category Manager (Tesco Customer)

Location:

Redhill, RG1 3AS (hybrid)

Hours:

Monday - Thursday, 8:30 - 17:00, Friday, 8:30 - 16:00

Salary:

£48,000 + car allowance

Key Duties:
  • To provide analytical support, category and consumer insight and help deliver customer category plans across all supplied areas to support a growth agenda.
  • Work cross-functionally with the internal Commercial and Development teams to ensure there is a two-way supply of information and insight sharing that drives opportunities to enhance performance.
  • Identify current trends to make informed decisions on the future direction of the category.
  • Monthly downloading of all market and category data from the relevant retailer system.
  • Manage and develop performance reports by category and subsector for relevant product areas, presenting at customer meetings as required.
  • Manage data input for internal and external monthly reports using EPOS and market data, along with performance commentary and recommendations that drive performance.
  • Manage and update internal promotional performance tracker using EPOS and shopper data.
  • Coordinate internal range maps for the relevant retailer.
  • Create and issue frequent internal and external business updates. E.g. NPD launches and seasonal event autopsy.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
  • Experience of working in a similar role either for or with a leading UK major retailer.
  • Have experience of using retailer data management systems such as Kantar, Circana, Dunnhumby or NiQ.
  • Be highly numerate with a logical and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Possess strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Be able to demonstrate ability to use initiative.
  • Have experience in building relationships both internally and externally.
  • The ability to use data analysis to create insightful actions.
  • Driving licence due to regular travel requirements.
