We are delighted to be working with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to recruit a new Category Manager for the Procurement Team based just outside Southampton.

About the Trust

HIOW Healthcare unites services from Southern Health, Solent NHS Trust, Isle of Wight NHS Trusts community and mental health teams, as well as Hampshire CAMHS, originally part of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job
  • Category strategy and planning; strategically analysing and managing allocated areas of procurement spend to leverage buying decisions
  • Sourcing; buying goods and services to deliver business outcomes
  • End-to-end tendering; including managing a lot of open tenders
  • Contract and supplier management; managing the successful delivery of business outcomes (once sourced)

Whilst the work will be corporate services and technology focused; you will also have the opportunity to work across other procurement category areas to support delivery of the work plan.

The kind of experience are we looking for
  • We are looking specifically for applications from experienced procurement professionals with corporate services, technology category expertise.
  • You will have significant procurement/commercial experience in some or all of the following areas:
    • Knowledge of Strategic sourcing methodologies
    • Contract Law and dispute resolution
    • Finance and leasing knowledge
    • Procurement Law
    • Public Procurement Regulations
  • You have delivered a range of competitive exercises (open tender and framework mini competitions) from initial planning to contract award / implementation.
  • You have a proven track record of working with and building relationships with stakeholders at all levels and the ability to bring them together to agree sourcing strategies and move projects forward.
Working pattern

The weekly hybrid working pattern is 2 days a week in the office (Tatchbury Mount, Southampton) and 3 days working from home.

It is advisable that you have your own transport (the office is 5 minutes from the M27 Ower Interchange).

Position details

This is an NHS Band 7 position with a salary range of £47,810 to £54,710.
