Signature Career Management have exclusively partnered with a global blue-chip food company who are a household name in the frozen food category. With a history spanning well over 60 years, they are still going from strength to strength and have huge growth plans for the next 5 years. They are constantly adding exciting new products to their portfolio (with 4 new acquisitions over the last 4 years!) to build a diversified presence across multiple channels and categories. They are looking to bring on a Category Manager who has experience with category across the e-commerce channel. Think Tesco dotcom for example, you might have managed this as part of the total Tesco account, and whilst it might not have been purely a role focused on grocery retail dotcom, exposure in managing this is what they are looking for. The question you need to ask yourself is maybe not can I do this (because you will know if you can), but do you want to do a role that purely focuses on this?
This is a pivotal specialist role at the forefront of ecommerce growth. As Category Manager - Retail Ecommerce, you will shape and execute winning category strategies across key retail ecommerce channels, driving performance through insight-led plans that unlock sustainable growth.
You will lead the development and delivery of category plans for Tier 1 retailers and pureplay customers, while enabling broader teams to succeed across Tier 2 and Tier 3 accounts through activation playbooks, training, and hands-on support. You will also help future-proof the business by accelerating growth across emerging channels such as Quick Commerce and Aggregators, while driving thought leadership in ecommerce technology, AI, innovation, and retail media.
This is a highly visible role for a commercially minded category professional who thrives on turning insight into action and delivering measurable business results in fast-evolving digital retail environments.
You will have...
The successful applicant will have experience in performing in an FMCG Category or Sales role, dealing with major Grocery Retailers. Any experience of working with a wider breadth of customers will be advantageous. You must be a team player with a positive attitude and be an excellent relationship builder, confident in presentation skill. Clearly you will be highly numerical, a whizz with data with a curious mind capable of delivering compelling insights. Consumer Insights is also key here as the business has BIG growth plans and given their market position needs to build on this!
