Job description

TXM is working with a global Rail company that is currently recruiting a Category Manager based in Southport. Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced candidate to join their expanding team.

As a Category Manager, you’ll:
  • Leverage competitive advantage and drive best‑in‑class supplier performance.
  • Develop and implement category strategies and supplier development plans.
  • Lead contracting arrangements, including framework agreements and long‑term contracts.
  • Build and manage strong supplier relationships to ensure delivery of business objectives.
  • Analyse and interpret complex data to support strategic decisions.
  • Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Travel across the UK (and occasionally overseas) to support supplier engagement and projects.
Desired skills & experience:
  • Degree qualified and CIPS Level 5 / 6 (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3+ years’ procurement experience in consumables / fasteners within a manufacturing or distributed product environment. This is a hybrid role with flexibility around the days in the office, but travelling will be a big part to play in this role.
