The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, and a solid understanding of FMCG market dynamics, with the role offering full remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' procurement or buying experience, preferably in FMCG.
• Proven contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.

About the Role

Our client, a key player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is actively seeking a proactive Category Buyer for a fully remote position. This role is integral to managing the procurement of specific product categories, ensuring the availability of high-quality goods at competitive prices. You will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and managing supplier performance to support our client's growing product lines. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of FMCG products, excellent negotiation skills, and thrives in a dynamic, remote work environment, contributing to efficient supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for assigned FMCG product categories.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and innovation.
• Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements with suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Manage inventory levels for assigned categories, ensuring product availability while minimizing stock holding costs.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing and product development, to understand category needs and market trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or buying , preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
• Strong understanding of FMCG product categories and market dynamics.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
