As part of its growth and aligned with the principle of being born digital, Lockton Re’s Analytics team is seeking an experienced Catastrophe Modelling professional to join the well-established London team.

Based in London, you will work across various risks and regions, modelling all perils using multiple platforms. You will also work on model evaluation, event response, mapping, and research projects.

The responsibilities include:

  1. Conduct technical modelling using approved models and tools.
  2. Gather data from various sources, prepare it for import, apply catastrophe modelling software (AIR & RMS), analyze, and validate results promptly.
  3. Assist in providing catastrophe loss and exposure estimates to clients efficiently.
  4. Support organizational growth by providing effective catastrophe analysis, identifying profitable areas, and monitoring key statistics.
  5. Gain extensive knowledge of catastrophe-exposed products.
  6. Share knowledge proactively, create learning experiences, and foster collaboration within the department.
  7. Collaborate with Lockton Re’s Analytics team.

Applicants should have prior catastrophe modelling experience, with skills including:

  • Experience with RMS and/or AIR Verisk platforms.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and basic knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of clients’ business needs and expectations.
  • Ability to produce clear reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong mathematical skills.

Highly valued skills include:

  • Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, large datasets, graphs).
  • SQL programming experience.
  • Experience with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS).
  • Presentation skills for delivering analytics outputs.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.
