A dedicated care provider in Plymouth seeks a support worker to assist an individual with epilepsy. The role involves promoting independence, managing budgets, and encouraging community engagement. Jane loves a bit of banter and is looking for a support worker with a good sense of humour. She is very trendy and enjoys shopping, bingo, arts and crafts, music and dancing as well as spending time with her family.
As a support worker you would be expected to work on your own initiative as well as working together as a team to help Jane achieve her goals. She will need a committed staff member who believes in her and can help her become more independent which includes supporting her with her epilepsy. You will need to be motivated and enthusiastic passing this on to Jane to encourage her to participate in activities that will help her to develop. She needs someone who can be flexible in their job role.
Jane is also very close to her family who play a significant role in her life and enjoys spending time with them especially her nieces and nephew. She would like her team to help her learn skills so that she can babysit her nieces and nephew and build up positive relationships with them. She would like to explore the possibility of building up relationships in the local community and make friends of her own choosing. You would be expected to look for new opportunities and take the chance to participate in these when the occasion arises. Jane will also need support to manage her budget.
