Job summary

Advance Housing and Support Ltd is recruiting a Casual Support Worker in Sarisbury Green, Southampton, SO31. The role offers zero contracted hours with weekend work, and hourly pay of £14.94 including holiday pay or £13.33 excluding holiday pay.

You will support customers with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and mental health conditions to live the lives they choose, with training and flexible working to fit your life commitments.

Qualifications

  • Values, passion and determination to make a difference in lives of people with autism or learning disabilities.
  • Able to work on your own and in a team and to complete quality support records.
  • Willingness to work every other weekend and to follow Support Plans and Risk Assessments.
  • Complete English literacy and numeracy to maintain customer records.
  • Willingness and ability to achieve the Care Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene if required.
  • Medication administration if required.
  • Support with preparing and cooking meals.
  • Support with attending medical appointments.
  • Support with social activities.
  • Support with independent skills.
  • Support with domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry.
  • Keeping accurate records and updating care plans as required.
  • Keeping up to date with training and ensuring safety during the night.

Advance is looking for Casual Support Workers in Sarisbury Green, Southampton, SO31 to support customers with learning disabilities / autism / complex needs / mental health conditions to live the lives they choose. Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene (if required)

  • Support with domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry

  • Ensuring the premises are secure and safe during the night
  • Supporting with meal times and food preparation (if required)
  • Supporting with regular checks on the customer to ensure their safety

You don’t need to have previous experience working in care or support to be successful in this role. What matters are your values, your passion and determination to make a difference in the lives of people with autism or learning disabilities.

  • Good at working on your own and within a team
  • Excellent at communicating with people
  • Able to complete quality support records
  • Able to work every other weekend
  • Ability to follow a Support Plan and Risk Assessments and maintain customer records
  • Need to be literate and numerate in English
  • Willingness and ability to achieve the Care Certificate
