We have an exciting role on offer within our Public Health Service as Casual Substance Use Nurses.

We are looking for a passionate motivated individual to provide high-quality nursing care to service users with substance use needs. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering person-centred substance use interventions and clinical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Complete physical and mental health assessments for people who access our services.
  • Support in the delivery of pharmacological and psychosocial interventions including assessments.
  • Conduct care planning and review of service users treatment.
  • Conduct assessments of physical dependency and determine safe induction / titration to opiate substitute treatments as required.
  • Conduct detox assessments.
Qualifications
  • Have a valid registration with the NMC and a current pin.
  • Relevant experience of working within a substance misuse setting.
  • Knowledge of the issues facing substance users including appropriate medical interventions social care and health issues.
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of the legislative guidance and policy framework around clinical delivery.
  • Highly developed communication and skills both written and verbal.
  • Applicants must have a Full UK Driving Licence and use of car with business insurance prior to starting the service.
