Swindon Borough Council is seeking Casual Passenger Assistants to support SEND transport. You will supervise Children and Young People, ensuring safety and wellbeing during journeys, and act as the main link between home and school.

The role offers casual hours, training including paediatric first aid and safeguarding, and requires fluent English. Applicants with experience in education are welcome.

Qualifications

• Ability to establish rapport with passengers and their parents or carers.
• Patient and calm disposition with emotional resilience.
• Flexibility to cover routes on short notice according to service needs.
• On‑the‑job training including paediatric first aid, behaviour management and safeguarding.

Responsabilités

• Direct supervision of Children & Young People (CYP) travelling on SEND Transport.
• Ensuring the safety, safeguarding and well-being of passengers during their journey.
• Main point of contact between home and school/provision.
• Potential involvement in Independent Travel Hub training activities.
