A supportive rehabilitation organization in Truro seeks a Casual Residential Support Worker. You will assist residents in developing their independent living skills and participate in workshops while working flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Ideal candidates will have experience in health and social care, particularly with substance misuse clients. A full UK driving license is required.
Chy is a residential rehabilitation unit in Truro, providing drug, alcohol and mental health treatment services to some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in society. We have an 18‑bed main property and a further 8 beds in a block of flats on the grounds that are used as "move‑on" accommodation for those with more specific therapeutic needs. Chy welcomes people from all over the UK who wish to heal, grow and make changes to their lives.
You will be joining a team of passionate people, with the opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team of person‑centred counsellors and a psychoanalytic art therapist. As a Residential Support Worker you will support our residents to engage in activities that develop their independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and most importantly, learning to have fun in their sobriety. There will also be an opportunity to co‑facilitate workshops around basic life skills and goal‑setting. We are looking for someone with experience of working or volunteering with substance misuse clients, ideally in a residential setting.

This is a casual position requiring flexibility to work shifts as and when required by the service. Hours will be discussed at interview. Commitment to work flexible and unsocial hours, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep‑ins (as required), is essential.
