A local government council in Ashley Heath is seeking a highly motivated individual for a casual customer service role within the Health and Activity Team. This includes managing bookings and providing administrative support at the Moors Valley Golf & Activity Centre. Ideal candidates will be organised and possess excellent communication skills, with flexibility for weekend and holiday work. (As a casual worker you are entitled to statutory annual leave. This will be paid as a 12% addition to the hourly rate outlined above and the accrued time off will be deemed to be taken immediately following each assignment.)
Dorset Council is looking for a highly motivated individual, with excellent organisation and communication skills, to join the Health and Activity Team based at the Moors Valley Golf & Activity Centre within Moors Valley Country Park on a casual basis.
Alongside managing the Moors Valley Golf Course, the Councils Health and Activity team coordinate, deliver and promote a wide range of entry level activities across the Dorset Council area, to encourage people to become more active to benefit their health & wellbeing. The team includes over 250 active volunteer leaders and a number of health and activity instructors who deliver sessions across a range of locations.
The postholder will act as the first point of contact for golfers and health and activity participants. Responsibilities will include taking bookings for the Golf Course and community activities and providing administrative support for the team as required.
As part of operational procedures, ensuring equipment is ready and available for use by golfers and health and activity participants and locked away securely is vital to the day to day running of the Centre, this includes golf buggies and accessible cycles. The postholder will be responsible for opening and closing the Centre as required.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised and have experience of working in a busy customer facing environment, with excellent communication skills and a good knowledge of ICT programmes and systems. Due to the nature of the business there is always a need to be flexible and adaptable.

This post is casual and the successful candidate would be trained up from mid January in preparation to provide casual customer service hours during the busy Spring and Summer season 2026 - approximately 2 days a week. Due to business need, the role will include work during school holidays and occasional weekends.
