Job summary

Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting casual Fitness Instructors to support six leisure centres with varied shifts, including evenings and weekends. You will guide members on their fitness journey, conduct health checks and inductions, and lead small group classes while ensuring safe gym use.

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 2 Gym Instructor Certificate, aim for Level 3, and ideally have a current First Aid at Work certificate.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Gym Instructor Certificate is required.
• Desire to work toward Level 3.
• Current First Aid at Work certificate desirable.
• Experience in fitness instruction and health checks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health checks and inductions.
• Run synrgy classes and prescribe safe and effective programmes.
• Provide a presence on the gym floor and assist customers with exercise programmes.
• Membership sales and retention activities.
• Promote and encourage joining as full paying members.
• Engage with members and teach small group classes.
