Job summary

Coleg Sir Gâr and Coleg Ceredigion seek a motivated Casual Technician in Construction for Ammanford Campus. The role supports teaching in building trades and installation teams, maintaining workshop equipment, and ensuring health and safety compliance across the curriculum area.

The ideal candidate will have Level 2/3 in Construction trades, relevant industry experience, and a commitment to aiding students and staff in practical workshop activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2/3 Qualification in Construction trades.
• Experience in the industry and a passion for learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and support for teaching and learning within your area.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with Health & Safety regulations.
• Prepare, maintain and update Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, COSHH records and equipment maintenance records.
• Maintain, upgrade and service construction equipment and machinery.
• Care for, control, maintenance and security of course equipment, materials and stock.
• Maintain stores inventory for consumables, equipment and delivery resources.
• Order stock and manage the online ordering system.
• Provide stores issue and equipment return services for the department.
• Participate in course teams, student committees and curriculum meetings.
• Support marketing and promotion of the course programme.
• Assist lecturers and students in workshop activities per timetable.
