Job summary

North Devon Hospice is seeking a Casual Catering Assistant to join the Terrace Café team. The role covers holidays and sickness with two shift patterns: 12pm–6:30pm or 10am–6:30pm on weekdays and weekends.

You will help serve nutritious meals and snacks to patients, visitors, staff and the public in a caring, patient-centered environment. The position includes holiday pay in the hourly rate of £14.26, an excellent working environment, free on-site parking, regular wellbeing events, and

• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or healthcare is desirable but not essential.
• Must be over 18 years old.
• Passion for providing excellent customer service.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
• Be compassionate, friendly and flexible in approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide cover for holidays and sickness across two shift patterns (12:00–18:30 or 10:00–18:30).
• Support Terrace Café operations serving meals, snacks and drinks to patients, visitors, staff and the public.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic casual Catering Assistant to join our Terrace Café team.

As a team we provide high quality nutritional food tailored specifically to our patient’s needs, alongside providing a varied and locally sourced menu for our Terrace Café which serves delicious homemade cakes, snacks and meals to patients, visitors, staff and the public.

As a Casual Catering Assistant, you will provide cover for holidays and sickness across two shift patterns 12pm till 6.30pm or 10am till 6.30pm weekdays and weekends.

• Have previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or healthcare setting is desirable but not essential
• Have a Level 2 Food Safety award or willingness to work towards one

• Be compassionate and friendly and have a flexible approach to everything that you do.
