Job summary

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking friendly Bar Assistants for the Kings Hall Events Team on a casual basis. Shifts will be offered as needed, with flexible hours to fit around your life.

You will work with the Events and Bar Officer to provide a great bar service at a renowned music and events venue. The role offers hybrid/flexible working options and opportunities for training and career development.

Qualifications

• Experience in a bar, hospitality or customer service setting, or a real willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills with customers and colleagues.
• Calm and professional under pressure; flexible, positive attitude and reliable.
• Understanding of health and safety in bar or food service settings.
• Commitment to training and developing skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve drinks and deliver excellent customer service with team support.
• Set up, run and clear bar service points.
• Help with basic preparation and store supplies under supervision.
• Keep bar equipment and furniture clean, safe and hygienic.
• Report equipment problems to Bars Officer.
• Participate in training and personal development.
