Job summary

NHS Highland is recruiting a named midwife to provide a full range of care and continuity for families in Oban, Lorn & Islands. The post includes travel to Argyll & Bute maternity units to cover as needed, including homebirth coverage within the HSCP. An on-call commitment overnight is part of the role.

Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own car for commuting; a pool car is provided for community visits. The post is fixed term/secondment until June 2027.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence essential
• Own car to commute; pool car provided for community visits

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity of care to families in Oban, Lorn & Islands.
• Travel to other maternity units within Argyll & Bute to cover when necessary.
• Cover homebirths within the Health Care Partnership (HSCP).
• On-call commitment overnight for Out of Hours care.
