Job summary

Trigon Recruitment Ltd is seeking a dedicated Carpentry Tutor for a prison-based role at HMP Brixton. You will deliver practical carpentry training to learners in small groups, helping them develop essential trade skills and work towards recognised qualifications.

You will design structured lessons, run hands-on workshops, assess progress, and keep records of attendance and achievement. The role supports rehabilitation, progression and positive learner outcomes in a secure environment.

Qualifications

• Recognised carpentry qualification (Level 2 or above).
• Significant industry experience in carpentry or construction.
• Experience delivering workshop based or classroom based training.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Ability to use varied teaching and assessment methods to engage learners.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Carpentry Tutor to deliver high quality, practical vocational training to learners at HMP Brixton. In this rewarding role, you will help learners develop valuable trade skills, gain confidence, and work towards recognised qualifications that support employment opportunities upon release. Working with small groups, you will design structured lessons, deliver hands on workshops, and support learners through all stages of their development. Your contribution will play a vital part in rehabilitation, progression, and successful learner outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Criteria
