Job summary

East Surrey College in Redhill is seeking a Carpentry Lecturer to deliver teaching and learning across levels 1–3 within the Construction department. You will act as a personal tutor and course leader for Level 2, promote attendance, join team meetings, plan and review activities, teach apprentices in-house and assess students’ work.

Applicants with industry experience and a teaching qualification are welcome; the college offers support to gain a qualification if needed, plus a competitive

Qualifications

• Hold a full teaching qualification (PGCE, DTTLS or Cert Ed) or willing to work towards within an agreed timescale.
• Be qualified to teach up to Level 3 in Carpentry.
• Have teaching experience (ideally within FE teaching Level 1 to Level 3).
• Have industry experience.
• Have experience delivering Apprenticeships.
• A certificate/award in Assessing and Internal Quality Assurance is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver teaching and learning to Carpentry students across levels 1–3.

We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Carpentry Lecturer to join our Construction department. In this exciting role you will have responsibility for delivering teaching and learning to our Carpentry students across levels 1 - 3.

Working closely with the Director of Learning, Programme Manager and the rest of the Construction team, you will have the chance to share your Carpentry industry knowledge and skills with learners to help them achieve at the highest level as well as driving continuous improvement within the College. You will act as a personal tutor and course leader for Level 2 students, promote attendance, participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning, development and review activities within your subject area. You will also teach apprentices in house and be required to assess students work.
