A college in St Albans we are working is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer to join our established Construction team. We are looking for someone with strong industry experience, a passion for the trade, and the ability to support learners in developing the skills they need for successful careers in the construction sector.
As a Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer, you will:
Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching across Level 1–3 Carpentry and Joinery programmes
Support students in developing practical skills in our specialist workshops
Prepare lesson plans, assessments, and learning resources aligned with curriculum requirements
Provide clear, constructive feedback and pastoral support
Contribute to course development and continuous improvement within the Construction department
Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge, including health and safety practices
We welcome applications from individuals who have:
Significant and current carpentry or joinery industry experience
A recognised qualification in Carpentry/Joinery (Level 3 or above)
A teaching or assessing qualification (or a willingness to work towards one, with support provided)
Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate learners
A commitment to high standards of teaching, safety, and professionalism
