This role will be working in a team of two inside a category B and C prison. Please be aware that you will be required to undertake a security clearance check which will mean there is a lead time for you to start of around 3/4 weeks.

Responsibilities
- Deliver Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) within a secure facility; carry out plumbing maintenance across accommodation and service areas
- Carpentry tasks including hanging doors, lock repair, flooring repairs and general property maintenance
- Like-for-like plumbing repairs, painting and decorating, patch plastering, and general maintenance
- Work in a fixed location in Winchester; focus on day-to-day occupied repairs and maintenance of a secure unit and its facilities
- Deliver excellent customer service and support staff with reactive repairs across a portfolio of secure unit facilities
- Work on a job-to-job basis over a planned route with a range of repairs
- Collaborate with facilities estate management to meet contract SLA delivery
- Advise supervisor on issues or challenges requiring additional support
- Work in a two-person team and with other trades as needed to complete repairs
- Complete daily work sheets detailing work undertaken and materials used
Qualifications and experience
- Strong multi-trade background with the ability to carry out multi-trade works
- NVQ Level 2 or NVQ Level 3 in at least one skill set, or time-served equivalent
- Own 110v power tools and hand tools
- Basic IT skills
- Extensive knowledge of maintenance repair works
- Ability to manage and carry out repairs in a secure environment
- Experience of repairs and maintenance in occupied properties, hospitals, prisons, sheltered accommodation or immigration centres is advantageous but not essential
- Strong customer service skills due to repairs taking place in occupied areas
- Tidy work ethic; keep adjoining areas clean and damage-free
- Problem solving, decision making, attention to detail, accountability and initiative

£190 - £205 per day
Working hours 8:00am – 4:30pm
