Job summary

Resourcing Group is recruiting an experienced FRA Carpenter for fire door installation and remedials on a social housing contract in Worcestershire. The role is a temp ongoing position with view to permanent, offering £25 per hour.

You will work on installing and maintaining fire doors and associated hardware, ensuring compliance with fire safety standards. Ideal candidates will have NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry and Joinery, 1–2 years of fire door remedial experience and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery is required.
• Minimum of 1–2 years experience on fire door remedials.
• Full current UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Installation and maintenance of fire doors.
• Install and maintain fire doors according to fire safety regulations (BS 476, BS 9999).
• Ensure correct installation of fire-rated door hardware (locks, hinges, closers).
• Apply intumescent strips and fire seals to doors and frames.
• Retrofit and upgrade existing fire doors to meet current standards.
• Carry out repairs on damaged or non-compliant fire doors.
• Apply fireproofing materials and coatings to timber doors and frames.
• Install and maintain fire-resistant seals.
• Ensure all fire doors are properly certified and compliant with industry standards.
• Conduct tests and inspections to verify integrity and functionality.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs and maintenance.
• Report non-compliance or issues to site managers or safety officers.
• Work with fire safety engineers, electricians and other trades to ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities

As an FRA Carpenter, you will be responsible for:

• Offer technical advice regarding fire safety measures and solutions.

Qualifications of the FRA Carpenter Role:

• Qualified to a minimum NVQ level 2 Carpentry and joinery
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience on fire door remedials.
