Qualifications

We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Carpenter to join our Trades Team on a permanent basis to help maintain and improve our residents’ homes at Eastlight.

What You’ll Do:
  • Carry out maintenance and repair work in occupied residential properties.
  • Complete a variety of carpentry-related tasks, including:
  • Hanging doors
  • Plastering repairs
  • Tank stands, bath panels, and frames
  • Floorboard repairs
  • Boxing in pipework
  • Fascia soffit and guttering
  • Applying sealants

You’ll also ensure that residents’ homes are safe, well-maintained, and continuously improved, while promoting a positive company image through high-quality workmanship, effective time management, and a customer-focused approach.

In your day-to-day work, you will operate safely, professionally, and courteously, fully complying with Health & Safety legislation, policies, and procedures. You’ll remain mindful of residents’ individual circumstances, reporting any safeguarding concerns through the appropriate channels, and treating customers and their homes with respect and care. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business, you’ll share ideas for service improvement, uphold Equality and Diversity principles, and conduct yourself in a way that builds trust and confidence with residents, colleagues, and the wider public.

  • £34,302 per annum
  • Permanent, full time, 37 hours per week
  • Power tools provided + £75 annually towards your hand tools

  • 30 days paid annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Group stakeholder pension plan (Eastlight will double, up to 5% of the employee’s contribution - Employee 5% + Eastlight 10% = Total 15%)
  • Annual wellbeing grant of £200 per annum – Subject to eligibility
  • Trailblazing family leave (Maternity, Paternity and Adoption – 12 weeks full pay / 6 weeks half pay) – Subject to eligibility
